living life to the fullest

our story

From five-diamond dining rooms to Italian city markets to apple orchards, we’ve collected so many stories to share with you. First up, our very own.

in my favorite place on earth,

I raised bees with my dad, visited orchards and gardens, and fell in love with the lush valley that I was so lucky to call home. My love of making and sharing food grew from there – fully blossoming when I was given a chance to pursue my dream of being a chef and attending the Culinary Institute of America with a generous Rotary scholarship.

After my schooling, traveling the world and working in all aspects of hospitality, I returned home. Joined by fellow chef, business partner and husband, Jimmy, we settled in and soon became a busy family of five. We continued working in area restaurants and falling further in love with this valley.

Ever grateful for the opportunities we’d been given, we wanted to repay our beloved community with the same energy, love and support shown to us. So, we took a chance and opened a small carryout and catering business and called it Hungry Bee.

Our intent was to recreate the taste and feel of nostalgic family dinners.

The kind made from scratch. From dog-eared recipes. Meals that merged classic French techniques with comfort-food accessibility. Dinners we could share with all of you just as we would share them with our own family. In the decade since, Hungry Bee has fed countless friends, neighbors and families. And still, every day, the chance to cook for you fills our hearts.

In 2026, as our newly refreshed bee and a few additional culinary adventures take flight (The Hive, Honey Hill), Jimmy and I, our three daughters, and the entire Hungry Bee family are deeply thankful for your willingness to support our dream – and a future together that we’re sure will be as bright and sweet as that first taste of home-grown honey that started it all.

Forever grateful,

Kimberly + Jimmy
